We are excited to invite you to the 15th Annual Vashon Island Strawberry Festival Car Show on July 20, 2025! This year is especially meaningful to us, as it marks our 10th year supporting this wonderful event. What started as a way to honor one of our own has blossomed into a beloved tradition, and we are truly honored to be part of it.

The Vashon Island Strawberry Festival Car Show began in 2010 as a heartfelt memorial to Tom Stewart, a generous member of the Vashon Island community. After Tom’s passing, local car enthusiasts came together to create a car show in his memory, held during the annual Strawberry Festival. Tom was known for his kindness and dedication to improving the island, funding the annual 4th of July fireworks and contributing to the construction of the Ober Park playground. His legacy of giving back continues to inspire us, and the car show serves as a beautiful reminder of the generous spirit he instilled in this community.

In 2022, the car show was rebranded to align more closely with the festival’s spirit, becoming the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival Car Show. While the name may have changed, the heart of the event remains the same—a tribute to Tom Stewart’s legacy, as well as a celebration of the community’s love for cars and the joy they bring. This year, we are proud to celebrate the 14th year of the event and 10 years of Island Insurance’s involvement in keeping the tradition alive. We look back on how the show has become an iconic part of the festival and a true community gathering.

One of the things that makes the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival Car Show so special is its community-driven nature. Local car owners from Vashon and all around the Seattle-Tacoma area sign up to display their beloved vehicles. It’s always a delight to see a wonderful mix of classic cars, custom builds, and modern vehicles that truly reflect the diversity of car culture here on Vashon. Whether you’re a passionate car enthusiast or simply someone who enjoys a beautifully crafted vehicle, there’s something for everyone to appreciate.
